A house built by my friend’s father, Paul. He purchased this plot of land in Alta, Wyoming while it was still dirt and dust right as he graduated from college. Broke, like many of us are at that point in our life, Paul couldn’t pay for the house in its entirety and finessed a crazy deal with the land owner. He made regular payments over the course of 10 years, and if he missed a single one the land owner would keep the property and all of his money. Paul was diligent and made all of the payments in that stretch of time and even started his own private-home construction company to help secure a future for his family. I felt so incredibly safe in this home knowing that someone of incredible patience had built it with the help of his family. It made every interaction with it that much more special. As soon as I stepped foot in this home I knew that I had to photograph it to help share its beauty and incredible story.
